The Birth and Women's Health Center (BWHC) offers midwifery care in Southern Arizona's only freestanding birth center. Our mission is to provide innovative women's wellness programs that foster empowerment and respectfully guide women and their families through the transitions of life. BWHC provides complete gynecological care for women of all ages; prenatal care and education; labor, birth and postpartum support; and educational programs for pregnant women and their families. BWHC provides an ideal atmosphere for families choosing natural childbirth at our birth center with few medical interventions, or for families choosing to birth at TMC with or without an epidural. Our certified nurse-midwives - Fran Wortman. Jill Groves, Jena Parson, Susan 'Sam' Cook, Susan Yount and Tara Murphy- help you make a birth plan that fits your needs.

The Birth Center offers a sustainable alternative to in-and-out prenatal care and hospitalization - with highly positive results for mothers and babies. BWHC offers personal, one-on-one care with a certified nurse-midwife, a home-like setting, water birth in our large jacuzzi tub, many options for comfort measures during labor, a full range of educational classes, and postpartum home visits with a registered nurse. 99 percent of Birth Center families would recommend the center to a friend.

BWHC is a great place for general women's health care, including regular annual exams, birth control, menopause care, infection checks and more.
