Joan has been a practicing midwife for over 20 years but retired from doing births last September 2005. She had a homebirth practice in Flagstaff, AZ from 1982-1993 and then was a part of two Nurse-Midwifery practices here in Tucson (Kino Hospital and UMC) until 2002, prior to starting the Acacia private hospital birth practice. She is still involved with Nurse-Midwifery in Tucson and is happy to talk with women about all midwifery birth options.
